Volkswagen Polo - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 4, MK IV, Polo IV, 9N, MK 4 - Years 2001-2009
Part: Spark plugs
Operation: Spark plug replacement instructions

First of all, it is suggested to carry out this maintenance with a cold engine since the spark plugs are screwed directly into the cylinder head and therefore overheat considerably; then remove the plastic cover above the engine by pulling it upwards, unhook the sockets connected to the ignition coils of the pipettes and extract them; even before unscrewing the spark plugs, blow compressed air into the respective seats in order to eliminate dirt residues that could end up in the cylinders (or suck up); then unscrew the old spark plugs and install the new ones without exceeding the tightening torque; finally apply the pipettes and reconnect the sockets to the ignition coils.

First of all we open the front door, on the driver's side, and start pulling the opening lever of the engine hood, in order to open the lock; then let's move to the front of the vehicle and unhook the tab that we find on the central part, above the manufacturer's emblem, as shown in the video. At this point we block the bonnet with the lateral rod; then we accompany the bonnet down to close it again!
