Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4
- Years 1997-2003 The one shown in the video is a fairly unusual but easily solved defect: it is an oil leakage from behind the support of the oil filter due to deterioration of the relative sealing gasket (O-ring). To replace this gasket it is necessary to remove the oil filter, which is located immediately above the sump, and then unscrew the fitting to which the filter itself is screwed and which acts as a fastener for the filter support; once the filter support has been removed from its seat, remove the o-ring and replace it with a new one which is also equipped with special holes for fixing during installation; then proceed backwards to reassemble and top up the oil level.
