To replace the battery in the remote for the Volkswagen Golf 7, lift the key using the designated button on the top of the device: once the key is lifted, you can lever it out of its housing to detach the cover on the back of the remote. When this is removed, you can slide the underlying battery out of its compartment and replace it with a new spare part. After replacing, close the remote.
