To replace the starter motor on a Volkswagen Polo, open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay. The starter motor is located at the lower part of the engine bay, and you will need to remove several components to reach it. Once these are removed, you will have access to the starter motor, which must be freed from its housing and disconnected from the connectors so that a new one can be installed. After installation, remount all the components that were removed.
