To replace the air conditioning compressor on a Volkswagen Jetta, open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay. First, disconnect the battery, then locate the alternator, which must also be removed from its housing. This can be done by unscrewing its fixing bolts and disconnecting its connectors; underneath the part, you will find the air conditioning compressor, which can be removed from its housing once freed from cables and bolts.
