We can easily install the central armrest on our Virtus or Polo by purchasing the piece on the major e-commerce platforms at prices ranging between 30.00 and 65.00 euros. The wide range is due to the material we want our armrest to be covered with. The package contains the base, which will be fixed with screws to the bodywork, and all the various pieces that make up the kit and of which we will see the assembly. Sitting in the back seat, we remove the rear ashtray, unscrew the screw that holds the handbrake lining in place and remove it. We also remove the gear gaiter; below are two screws that we will unscrew. We remove the radio frame, which is push-fit, like the air conditioning button frame. Below are two screws, which we unscrew. We hold down the plastic buttons and pull gently: the central console now comes off without difficulty. Under the console there are two screws that hold the central tunnel in place: we remove it. At this point the central tunnel is free, and we can insert the base of the armrest under it. Now we can position the armrest by fitting it properly and fixing it with its central screw. Now we have to put the back cover on the armrest, which is press fit. Now we reassemble the central tunnel fixing it with its screws, the pressure console and with its screws, the various frames that we have removed, the gear gaiter and the handbrake cover. The job is done.
