How to Replace the Front Brake Pads on a Volkswagen Polo

In this video tutorial, you can see how to replace the front brake pads on a Volkswagen Polo. The first step is to get inside the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake; pull the lever to lift the bonnet and secure it with the appropriate prop. Open the brake fluid reservoir. Now, loosen the wheel bolts, then lift the front of the car using a hydraulic jack and place axle stands for support; remove the front wheel and place it under the car for added safety while working. Now, turn the disc outward to facilitate the operation; insert a flat-head screwdriver into the outer slot at the front of the caliper and pull towards you to release it; once there is enough space between the pad and the caliper (ensure you have pushed the piston back), remove the caps from the screws and use a 7 mm Allen key to remove the screws. Remove the caliper and then detach the two pads. Use a wire brush to clean the ends of the caliper bracket and apply grease to the ends of the new pads. Reattach the caliper and insert the new pads.
