How to change the battery on the Volkswagen Polo

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 5, Polo V, MK 5, MK V, 6R - Years 2009-2017

If you need to replace the battery on your vehicle, first pull the plastic lever located inside the car (to the left of the door); once the front bonnet is released, lift it (using the hydraulic strut on the left). Locate the battery position in the engine bay, and remove the plastic cover from the battery. Use a 10 mm socket to undo the bolts on top of the battery terminals (first the negative, then the positive). Pull the battery terminals upwards once the bolts are removed. Unscrew the bolt that secures the metal bracket under the battery using a 13 mm socket (the bracket is connected to the front side of the battery). Remove the battery and replace it with the new one, then reconnect the positive terminal first and then the negative.
