Replacing the key battery in a Volkswagen Passat is a straightforward task. First, extract the metal central part of the key, then gently pry off the top part of the casing. Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the bottom part of the casing. Open the casing, take out the worn battery, and insert the new battery. Close the casing by aligning the two parts, reinsert the top metal part, and then insert the central metal part. Finally, test the remote on the vehicle.
