Changing the gearbox oil is a maintenance task that is often overlooked and considered non-essential: however, keeping the gears running in clean oil is certainly important to reduce wear on the gears themselves and ensure smooth and quiet gear engagement.

Once you remove the splash cover from under the engine bay, you can access the gearbox and locate the drain plug at the bottom and the filler plug at the front.

Unscrew both nuts to allow the oil to drain, clean and refit the drain plug, then fill the gearbox with new oil: once the oil starts to flow from the filler plug, the level is reached.

The spare wheel of a Peugeot 5008 is located under the rear of the vehicle. To remove it, you need to lift the third row of seats to access the fixing bolt that holds the spare wheel in position. Using the correct spanner, proceed to unscrew the fixing bolt until the wheel is no longer secured. At this point, you can extract the spare wheel from underneath the vehicle. Once you have completed this step, you are free to fit the spare wheel. Ensure you correctly remount the spare wheel and securely tighten the fixing bolt when you are finished.
