Instructions for Replacing the Fuel Filter

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Diesel fuel filter

The fuel filter for the vehicle in question is located under the floor of the car, near the right rear wheel (passenger side): to replace the filter, lift the vehicle, position a container under the filter, loosen the securing clamp, disconnect the fuel inlet and outlet pipes, and remove the filter from its housing; then fit the new filter, orienting it according to the fuel flow direction indicated by the arrow printed on the casing, secure it with the appropriate clamp, and reconnect the inlet and outlet pipes. Before starting the engine, turn the ignition on and off three or four times to allow the pump to fill the filter.
