The procedure for replacing the timing belt on a Volkswagen Golf 7 involves opening the bonnet and then removing the air filter box located on the left side of the engine bay to gain easier access to the left side of the block. You will also need to remove the right front wheel and the inner cover of the corresponding wheel arch: this will allow you to loosen the central bolts of the pulleys, reducing the tension on the belt and sliding it out of its housing. Once the new belt is inserted, you can reassemble all the other components.
