The procedure for replacing the timing belt on a Volkswagen Golf 4 involves lifting the car with a jack or ramp to loosen the bolts securing the front right wheel and the corresponding wheel arch: once these two components are removed, you can open the bonnet and loosen the screws securing the cover on the top and left side of the engine block. Underneath, you will find the belt, which must be removed from its seat by loosening the central nut of the tensioner pulley: this way, the old belt can be slid out, and the new one can be inserted.
