Replacing the Remote Control Battery on a Volkswagen Passat

The remote control for opening and closing the doors on a Volkswagen Passat contains a battery that discharges over time with use. When this happens, you need to replace it. First, remove the emergency key by unlocking it with the dedicated button at the top of the remote. Then, using a small tool, remove the cover that protects the battery compartment. You can now take out the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring the correct polarity is respected. Close the cover and reposition the emergency key in its place.
