How to Replace the Clutch on the Volkswagen Golf 5?

To replace the clutch on the Volkswagen Golf 5, lift the car using a jack or ramp to access the screws securing the front right wheel, then remove the wheel completely. Once the wheel is removed, unscrew the two drive shafts and access the screws that secure the gearbox to its supports. The gearbox can then be removed from its housing, locating the clutch release bearing on the side of the engine block. Extract the release bearing, detaching the old clutch from the diaphragm spring. You can now insert the new clutch and reassemble all the removed components.
