Operation: How do you replace the door lock of the Volkswagen Golf?

The replacement of the door lock on the Volkswagen Golf requires opening the door so that the side panel can be removed. Underneath the panel, there will be a screw that secures the lock in place. By loosening this screw, the lock can be slid out of its housing, also freeing it from the handle. Once the old lock has been removed, the new one can be inserted and secured in its housing.
