Resetting the Service Light on the Volkswagen Golf 4

After changing the engine oil on the Volkswagen Golf 4, you need to reset the control system that alerts you by displaying "insp" on the small display within the speedometer. While seated in the driver's seat, press the button to the left of the display, turn the ignition key to the ON position, the display will show "oil", rotate the button under the rev counter to clear the "oil" message. Press the speedometer button and the "insp" message will appear, rotate the rev counter button to clear the "insp" message and complete the reset.
