How to Change the Oil Filter on a VW Golf

Lift your car and place it on suitable axle stands for easier access. Now remove the oil filter located at the bottom of the engine. Before fully removing it, prepare a container to catch the oil that will spill from that area. Now screw on the new filter. Next, you need to remove the sump plug to drain all the used oil circulating in your engine, so have a suitable container ready for this as well. Remember to replace the plug once finished. Now, simply add the new oil to your engine's system, and you're done!
