How to remove the diesel pump on Volkswagen Touran

Ensure the vehicle is off and the key is removed from the ignition. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid short circuits.

Lift the rear seats to access the area under the seat where the diesel pump is located. Remove the screws or bolts securing the rear seat and lift the seat to expose the carpet.

Lift the carpet to reveal the access panel to the diesel pump. Remove the bolts or screws securing the access panel and lift it to expose the diesel pump.

Disconnect the diesel pump: disconnect the electrical connectors and fuel lines from the pump. Use a suitable tool to remove the cover or retaining nut of the pump.

Carefully extract the diesel pump from the tank. If installing a new pump, ensure it is compatible with your model of Touran.

Install the new pump in the tank and reconnect the connectors and fuel lines. Ensure all seals are positioned correctly to avoid leaks.

Refit the access panel and secure it with the bolts or screws. Replace the carpet and reassemble the rear seat.

Reconnect the battery.
