Replacing the air filter on a Volkswagen Golf

To maintain the efficiency of the engine in the Volkswagen Golf, you must replace the air filter at the scheduled interval set by the manufacturer. Open the bonnet, and you will find the filter box on the driver's side.

Remove the solenoid valve hose, using a pair of pliers to release the clamp that secures the access hose, and pull it off. Using a cross-head screwdriver, unscrew the eight screws that secure the filter cover and move it aside. Remove the old filter and clean the housing.

Fit the new filter, ensuring the rubber edge adheres properly, replace the cover, reconnect the solenoid valve hose, and reattach the access hose, securing it with its clamp. Finally, tighten the eight screws of the cover.
