Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Model: Volvo S60 MK 1 - Years 2000-2009

Lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the splash shield if present. Locate the oil drain plug and loosen it; after placing a suitable container (about 1.3 qt) under the plug, remove the plug to allow the old oil to drain. Meanwhile, remove the oil filter container cap (located at the front right corner of the oil pan) using the appropriate wrench (or a metal strap wrench), ensuring the container collects the oil that spills out, and then extract the old cartridge. Replace the O-ring seal on the filter cap (always included with the new filter) and the filter cartridge itself; then reinstall the filter cap after cleaning it of any residues and applying oil to the seal.
Reinstall the oil pan plug after replacing the metal gasket and tighten it properly.
At this point, fill the engine with new oil according to the SAE specifications and the quantities indicated in the owner's manual.
Start the engine for a few minutes and then check the oil level using the dipstick.
