Removal of the Car Radio and Climate Control Buttons

Model: Volvo S40 MK 1 - Years 1995-2004

Using a small flathead screwdriver, press and release the two securing clips of the car radio located at the bottom sides, then extract the car radio itself (move the gear lever back to facilitate this operation) and disconnect the plugs connected to it; then remove the three screws inside the car radio support.
Using the small flathead screwdriver again, detach the plastic trim surrounding the climate control buttons and the other two securing screws of the car radio support, which can now be removed by disconnecting the plug connected to it.
Now unscrew the two securing screws of the climate control module and extract it from its seat by disconnecting the plugs and the pipe connected to it.
Install the new climate control module by connecting the pipe, the plugs, and positioning it in its seat, tightening the two securing screws.
Then insert the car radio support, reconnecting the relevant plug and tightening the securing screws (2 on top and 3 on the bottom). Reattach the climate control button trim.
Now reconnect the plugs to the car radio by entering the unlock code (rotate the central knob until reaching the correct value of the first digit of the code and press to enter, then proceed to the next digit) and check its correct operation, including the CD player; finally, insert the car radio into its support and reattach the securing clips.
