Replacement of Dipped Beam Headlight Bulb

Having a blown bulb can be very inconvenient and costly, especially as it may lead to a fine from the authorities. Therefore, it is always wise to carry a set of spare bulbs and know how to replace them. Here’s how to do it on the Volvo S80. The headlight has two black plastic caps. One is less visible for the main beam bulb, and one is more prominent for the dipped beam. Rotate the cap counterclockwise and remove it. Disconnect the wires, which are usually connected via a single connector, and unclip the steel spring that holds the bulb in place. The spring has a catch at the top; if you cannot unclip it, you can slide it out from the lower seat.
