Disassembly of Front Door Panel

Model: Volvo S40 MK 1 - Years 1995-2004

Unscrew the screws located on the opening handle using a Torx key. Remove the armrest by taking out the screws located lower down. Unscrew all the screws around the panel to access other fastening screws. Unscrew the screws fastening the pillar cover and remove it. Some screws are hidden under plastic caps that need to be removed using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the panel. Pull the panel to release all the plastic clips. Carefully slide the panel upwards to disengage other clips. Disconnect the speaker wires and other services. You now have access to the internal components. Remove the wires from the handles and the electrical contacts by disconnecting the connectors, taking care not to tear them. Refit the new panel starting with the connection of the electrical wires. Position the panel upwards and then push it down until it clicks into place. Reconnect the wires, connectors, and screws.
