How to Replace the Remote Key Battery of the Volvo V40

Has the battery in your key run out and you don't know how to replace it? This guide shows you how; the procedure is the same for other Volvo models. Get a flat screwdriver and a new battery. Using the tab on the remote, extract the key and use the screwdriver to separate the two parts of the remote. Now, disconnect the battery and insert the new one, ensuring the correct polarity is observed. The battery is a 3V button type, model CR 2430; however, check the correct battery type by consulting the vehicle's user manual. After replacing the battery, reassemble the two halves of the remote and reposition the emergency key into the slot until you hear the "click" of locking.
