Coolant is essential for the health of your engine, as it cools the engine to maintain the correct operating temperature and transfers heat to warm the vehicle's cabin. To top up the coolant on a second-generation Volvo V40, produced from 2012 to 2019, first open the bonnet. Inside the engine bay, located on your left, is the coolant reservoir. Simply unscrew the cap of the reservoir and add coolant directly from the opening. The coolant level should always be between the MIN and MAX marks, so regular checks are recommended.
