To reset the Service light on the Volvo V40, insert the key into the ignition switch, but do not turn on the instrument panel. Then, press and hold the button located at the end of the lever on the left of the steering wheel, and only then turn on the instrument panel. Continue to hold the button until the display indicates that the reset has been completed: at this point, you can go to the "Maintenance" section of the menu, ensuring that the maintenance interval has been reset.
