How to replace brake discs and brake pads on a VOLVO V70.![]()
Model: Volvo V70
MK 3
- Years 2007-2016 Necessary tools: Car lift or jack and jack stands Ratchet wrench and socket set Screwdrivers Hex key or torx Brake piston compression tool or clamp Brake grease Thread locking compound (if necessary) Brake fluid Here are the general steps for replacing brake discs and pads: Make sure the car is on a flat and secure surface. Lift the car using a car lift or jack and place jack stands to ensure stability. Remove the brake wheel you want to work on using the ratchet wrench and sockets. Make sure to follow proper lifting procedures and use appropriate safety precautions. Once the wheel is removed, you can access the braking system. You will need to remove the clamp support (usually secured with 2 or 4 screws) that holds the pads in place. Using the screwdriver, gently push the brake pistons inside the calipers to make room for the thicker new pads. You can also use a brake piston compression tool or clamp to do this. Remove the old pads and check the mounting surfaces to make sure they are clean and free of dirt or rust. If necessary, clean the surfaces with a wire brush or cloth. Install the new pads onto the caliper supports and make sure they are properly aligned. Remove the old brake disc. In some cases, it may be necessary to remove the hub bearing pin to extract the disc. Make sure to follow the specific instructions for your model. Clean the hub surface and install the new brake disc. Make sure it is properly positioned and tightened. Remount the clamp support onto the new pads and tighten it securely. Repeat steps 3-9 for the other brake discs and pads. After completing the replacement of the discs and pads, remount the wheel and tighten it properly. Repeat the process for the other wheels that require brake disc and pad replacement. Once the replacement is completed on all wheels, pump the brake pedal repeatedly to restore pressure in the brake system. Check the brake fluid level and, if necessary, add more following the owner's manual instructions. Make sure to use the type of brake fluid recommended by the manufacturer.

How do you reset the tire pressure light on the Toyota Aygo X?![]() To reset the tire pressure warning light on the Toyota Aygo X, you need to inflate the tires until they reach the recommended pressure value: this will be indicated on the sticker attached to the driver's side door pillar. Once the tires are inflated, you can go inside the cabin and turn on the instrument panel: after it has been turned on, you can open the glove box on the passenger side and locate the SET button that must be held down to turn off the warning light. by ScegliAuto More videos
