Replacing the steering wheel on an Alfa Romeo 156? Here’s how to remove it, starting with the airbag. Disconnect the battery terminals; insert the removal keys into the slots at the back of the steering wheel and unscrew the pins until the steering wheel is free. Once the airbag is released, disconnect its power connectors and remove it from the steering wheel. To remove the steering wheel, simply unscrew the central bolt on it. After removing the old steering wheel, you can install the new one. Tighten the nut, then reconnect the airbag power connector and press the airbag back onto the steering wheel until it locks.
