To replace the engine oil and oil filter on an Alfa Romeo 147, first open the bonnet after ensuring the vehicle is on a flat surface or on a ramp for safety. Open the oil filler cap. Next, place a container underneath the car, aligned with the oil drain plug, and using the appropriate spanner, loosen the bolt/plug to allow the old oil to drain.

Now, remove the two bolts securing the metal cover over the oil filter. Unscrew the filter using the correct tool and replace it with a new one. Refit the cover and close the drain plug.

Pour the new oil into the engine, and you're done!
