The procedure for changing your car's cabin air filter is very simple and can be done periodically without needing a mechanic. The first step is to remove the dashboard trim and the cigarette lighter. Now you can see the filter; pull it towards you in the same direction it is positioned. The rest is straightforward: place the new air filter and follow the procedure in reverse to reassemble. Filters of various prices and good quality are available. There are also so-called 'sport' filters, which are washable and reusable cotton filters, costing around £50 - £60, lasting for many years, although the manufacturer guarantees them for the life of the car.
