Audi A4 - Video tutorial
Model: Audi A4
B5
- Years 1994-2000 In order to access the timing belt it is first of all necessary to remove the front bumper and the bonnet stringer complete with headlights and radiator. At this point, remove the belt cover and unscrew the fixing pins of the cooling fan by removing it. Loosen the tensioner (plastic pulley) of the auxiliary belt (turning it leveraging the central pin with a 17 mm wrench) and remove the belt, trying to remember the various passages around the pulleys. Then remove the crankshaft pulley (the large one with the grooves positioned at the bottom, in front of the plastic casing); then remove the casing itself and the tappet cover. Before removing the timing belt, manually rotate the crankshaft until the timing references are reached (camshaft notch, flywheel notch, pulley pin centering): aligned the references, mark the position of the crankshaft with a marker. Now disassemble the timing belt tensioner (plastic pulley) and remove the toothed belt. Install the new tensioner by correctly inserting the tab of the rear bracket into its seat; position the new belt taking care not to rotate the pulleys and make it adhere properly. Finally, tension the belt by preloading the tensioner spring with needle nose pliers and tightening the fixing pin. Before starting the engine, manually rotate the crankshaft by 2 revolutions (the thermodynamic cycle of the 4-stroke engine develops completely in 2 rotations of the crankshaft) by checking the phase references again: if they coincide, start the engine to check regular operation and reassemble everything (it is advisable to also replace the tensioner and auxiliary belt). It is suggested to carry out this repair only if you have good knowledge of mechanics as a trivial mistake could seriously damage the engine.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere are the fuses of the Volvo FH located? All the fuses of the Volvo FH are located inside the fuse box located in the vehicle cabin: in order to access the box it will be necessary to unhook the internal fixing clips that block the panel in the upper part of the dashboard, along its entire length. extension. Once this panel has been removed, it will be possible to access the fuses and replace them if necessary: here it will be possible to identify the fuses that take care of the operation of the windshield wipers, the cigarette lighter, the headlights, etc. In the vehicle manual each fuse is indicated with its amperage. by ScegliAuto More videos
