How to Change the Cabin Air Filter on an Audi Q6 Yourself

On the Audi Q6, the cabin filter is accessed from the passenger side, working in the area under the glove compartment. Before you start, turn off the car completely, keep the key away, and leave the ventilation system off: operating with the ignition on can activate fans or actuators while your hands are in the work area. Go to the passenger footwell and locate the group under the dashboard. If there is a service panel near the fuses, open it enough to provide more light and space to manoeuvre. Now locate the closure of the filter compartment: it is a cover with a latch that needs to be unlocked and moved to the open position to allow access to the filter. With the cover open, pull out the used filter by gently pulling it outward, avoiding shaking it to prevent dust from spreading. Insert the new filter in the same direction as the one removed, sliding it in slowly until it is seated without bending it more than necessary. When the filter is fully in place, close the cover and return the latch to the locked position, ensuring that the catch is secure and that there is no play. At the end of the job, start the ventilation for a quick check: if the airflow is steady and no unusual noises come from the area under the dashboard, the replacement is complete.
