If you have problems with the fuel pump you must make sure before starting the work that the tank is almost empty as on this type of car all the fuel beyond the middle of the tank could leak. As you can see, the indicator indicates that the tank is empty. As a precaution, it is best to disconnect the battery in order to avoid any short circuits. Now lift the seat of the rear seat which is attached with two clips on each side. Before removing the seat completely, disconnect the electrical connectors. Once the seat has been removed, unscrew the three screws of the cover as shown in the video. Be very careful now in unhooking the fuel line. This operation should possibly be done with special pliers to release the clip. Now turn the ring nut as shown with the help of a hammer and screwdriver. Remove the ring nut, the support and then also the pump with the appropriate tool that goes around the pump. With the tool attached to the pump, rotate it half a turn and remove it. Clean the fixing seat before reinstalling the new one. Remove any debris or deposits that may be present on the bottom of the tray. Insert the replacement pump paying attention to the fixing pins. Fix it definitively with the special tool. Install the new gasket which must always be changed if the pump is replaced. Secure the cover with the ring after aligning it in its position. Reinsert the tube and the electrical connector by fitting them into place. Now carry out a few starts to allow the petrol to reach the engine by eliminating any air bubbles present in the fuel circuit. Replace the seat after reconnecting the wires. Attention it is a good idea to also replace the fuel filter after changing the fuel pump.
