How to Replace the Engine Coolant Thermostat on an Audi A4 B7

This guide shows how to replace the engine coolant thermostat on an Audi A4 B7. The first step is to disconnect the battery. Remove the serpentine belt and the alternator using the four 6 mm bolts. Disconnect the electrical wires from the alternator and remove the unit; take off the air intake hose. At this point, from the bottom of the created space, remove the two coolant hoses from the engine. The thermostat is now ready to be removed. Take out the two 10 mm bolts holding it in place and clean the area. Reassemble everything in position.
