If you need to replace the battery in your BMW 5 Series E60 key, carefully read the procedure described below and follow all the steps. First, get a flathead screwdriver, then slide the emergency key out from inside the protective cover and remove the cover using the flathead screwdriver.

Once the cover is removed, locate the dead battery and remove it using the screwdriver again. Finally, insert the new battery and properly reassemble the protective cover.
