The message "emergency call error" on a BMW vehicle appears for three main reasons: battery reached end of life, malfunctioning telematics control unit, or disconnected speaker cable. In the case of a fault related to a disconnected speaker cable, it is necessary to check the status of the cable located under the glove compartment on the driver's side for a BMW 3 Series or under the glove compartment on the passenger side for a BMW 1 Series.

Once the cable is replaced, the problem will be resolved. If the fault is due to the car's battery, the battery itself will need to be replaced.

If the fault is related to the telematics control unit, the cause may be due to water infiltration. In these cases, it is necessary to replace the control unit.
