How to change the battery of a BMW 3 Series key?

To change the battery of a BMW 3 Series key, start by locating the button to remove the emergency key, usually located on the side of the key itself. Press this button and slide the emergency key outwards. Once removed, look for the small compartment accessible from the bottom or back of the remote. Using a thin object like a flathead screwdriver or a coin, gently pry open the battery compartment, being careful not to damage the components. Inside, you will find the button battery, which must be carefully removed. Take note of the battery model (usually a CR2032) to ensure you replace it with the same type. Insert the new battery into the compartment, making sure the positive side is correctly oriented, then carefully close the compartment by pressing until you hear a click. Reinsert the emergency key and check the remote's functionality.
