How to Remove the Door Lock on a BMW 3 Series

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Door lock

Remove the door lock from the left side of a BMW 3 Series. Use a lever to detach the switch panel and the panel cover, then unscrew the screws with a screwdriver. Remove the remaining screws on the door panel and detach the retaining clips. Disconnect the power connectors for the window regulator, the speaker in the handle, and the tension cable for the door release lever. Take off the panel from the door; remove the adhesive covering on the door's metal and unscrew the door lock with all attached parts. Remove the lock and install the new piece.
