How to remove the steering angle sensor on a BMW 5 Series? It's a straightforward operation if you follow the steps. Insert a medium-length screwdriver into the rear slots on the steering wheel and turn it until you release the clips that hold the airbag. Once the airbag is removed, disconnect the power connectors and take it out of the steering wheel. Unscrew the bolt in the center of the steering wheel and remove it. Take off the plastic cover of the sensor and the screws that secure it. Remove the sensor from its housing. Reassemble all the previously removed parts.
