Remove Thermostat on BMW 3 Series

Removing a faulty thermostat on a BMW 3 Series? Let's go through the disassembly from inside the engine compartment. Lift the hood and secure it. Remove the cooling fans to access the thermostat. Disconnect the coolant hoses and use a socket wrench to remove the mounting bolts on the metal part of the thermostat. Install the new thermostat in its housing (tighten the mounting screws). Reinstall the cooling fans and hoses. Refill with coolant. Test the operation of the installed part in the engine compartment.
