How to Reset the Brake Light on a BMW X3

Model: BMW X3 MK 1, E83 - Years 2003-2010

To reset the brake light on a BMW X3 (this procedure also applies to the 3 Series, 5 Series, and X5), first ensure that the brake pads have been replaced and that the wear indicators are properly installed. After that, firmly press the brake pedal repeatedly to seat the pads. Check that the brake fluid level is at the maximum level. Turn on the ignition with the engine off for about 30 seconds, then press the brake pedal again.
