Installing Ignition Coils

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

To replace the ignition coils (integrated in the heads of the spark plug boots), first remove the engine cover (the one with the BMW logo): take off the caps and unscrew the mounting screws. Then, disconnect the locking tab of the connector and pull out the connector itself. Using a screwdriver or a channel lock wrench, pry the boot upward to remove it. Insert the new boot, ensuring it seats fully in place. Finally, reconnect the connector and secure the locking tab. Reinstall the engine cover.
