Replacing the Remote Battery on a BMW 1 Series

Model: BMW Serie 1 E81, E82, MK 1, E87 - Years 2004-2013

Press the designated button to extract the manual key from the BMW fob. Now, in the space left by the key, there is a small area in the centre of the remote: with a small flat-head screwdriver or any pointed tool, pry in this space to remove the cover that conceals the battery. Again, using the pointed tool or screwdriver, extract the battery from its housing by prying from underneath. It is a CR2032 battery, available in all hardware stores or large supermarkets. Insert it into place and reassemble the remote.
