Belt Tensioner Pulley Replacement
Model: BMW Serie 5
E39
- Years 1995-2003
If you hear noises or squeaks at idle that increase proportionally with engine RPM, you will likely need to check the exposed rotating parts of the engine, namely the pulleys that rotate with the timing belt. In this case, the pulley to be replaced is the tensioner pulley. First, remove the panel above the radiator, the fan, and any protective covers. Once you have clear access to the timing belt, insert a socket wrench onto the nut of the tensioner pulley and wiggle it to release a portion of the belt. Now that the belt is no longer under tension and thus not connected to all the pulleys, do not touch or rotate the crankshaft or timing pulley to avoid misalignment and potential engine damage. To access the tensioner, you must first remove the adjacent pulley. After that, you can begin to remove the tensioner. When reinstalling the tensioner, it is advisable to first tighten the lower bolt, which is the least accessible. Depending on the situation, it may be useful to take this opportunity to also replace the pulley you removed first. Now proceed by reinstalling the belt according to the established path and reassemble everything. Required tools: 13-16 mm socket wrenches with extensions, Torx T50 wrench (depending on how the replacement part is provided).

How to Replace the External Rear-View Mirror of the Fiat Stilo
To perform this operation, turn the mirror to the widest position possible. This will give you more space to work comfortably during the extraction of the mirror. You need to grip it by the edge to pull away the entire mirror, which is attached by pressure clips. Once the mirror is removed, disconnect the connector at the back. Then, proceed with the installation of the new mirror, ensuring it is fitted correctly. Finally, retrace the steps described in reverse for reassembly. by ScegliAuto More videos
