How to replace the key battery of a BMW i3?

In this mini guide, you will discover how to correctly replace the button cell battery inside the smart key of a BMW i3. First, locate the small button situated at the top rear of the key. Press it and simultaneously slide out the physical emergency key located in the cover. Next, lift the rear cover and remove it completely. At this point, simply replace the old exhausted battery with a new compatible one. Finally, reassemble the cover and insert the physical key back inside.
