Water Pump Malfunction

A malfunction of the water pump or, more generally, the cooling system, can cause excessive overheating and lead to serious engine damage. Fortunately, as in the case of the vehicle in question, the vehicle's electronics constantly monitor all parameters and, in the event of an anomaly that could compromise the engine, create a recovery condition, limiting performance. In particular, the video shows how, upon starting, the cooling fan activates and, after a few seconds, the recovery condition limits engine RPM. In situations like this, it is always preferable to avoid using the vehicle and arrange for towing to a shop.
