How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW 1 Series?

Whenever you carry out a service that includes an oil change and filter replacement, it is necessary to reset the service warning that appears on the instrument cluster display. To do this, follow these steps: access the driver's seat and insert the ignition key into the appropriate slot, then turn on the ignition by pressing the "start" button. Next, use the wheel on the left multifunction lever to scroll through the menu until you reach the "service" option. At this point, press the "BC" button located at the end of the multifunction lever; this will cause the "service" indication to start flashing. Press the "BC" button again and hold it until the warning resets.
