How to Reset the Warning for Worn Rear Brake Pads on the BMW 5 Series 530i G30

This guide shows how to reset the warning for worn rear brake pads on the BMW 5 Series 530i G30. First, check the warning from the onboard computer: with the instrument cluster on, use the buttons on the lower central console to go to the vehicle tab, then to the vehicle status tab, and finally to the maintenance tab. Turn off the instrument cluster and, without pressing any pedals, perform three repeated taps on the ignition button to enter diagnostic mode. Hold the button on the left side of the instrument cluster until the worn pads notification appears. Press and hold it again to activate the reset mode and confirm the reset by pressing the button. At the end of the operation, a success message for the reset will be displayed. If this operation fails, it is necessary to connect diagnostic software and reset the warning light from the device.
