Removing the Navigation Monitor Console

Model: BMW Serie 7 MK 3, E38 - Years 1994-2001

To remove the center console that includes the navigation monitor, start by removing the wood trim located at the center of the dashboard: simply pull them outward as they are secured with clips to pressure fittings (for the one above the glove compartment, first remove the dashboard trim secured with plastic nuts).
Once the trim is removed, you can access the side mounting screws which, when unscrewed, allow you to take off the trim frame and unscrew the other mounting screws of the console; at this point, you can pull out the console and disconnect the connectors.
